SNACK BREAK #13: Beans, Prada Doooops and Pumpkin Spice Coffee that's actually good.
+ the question we have all been asking "is Travis Kelce hot?"
Hiiiiiiiii it’s us.
So here we stand, 14 days until Thanksgiving. 14 days until the anniversary of having to sit across the table from your weird uncle-in-law. 14 days until we act like we all of a suddenly like turkey (yes, I said it, come at me).
How have you been feeling? These past few weeks I have been in this mode of shedding my summer skin, and I’m getting more comfortable with the winter version of myself - one that is cozy on the sofa, cookie dough in hand and unapologetically watching Love Island UK reruns. As always, here are the things we have been loving lately. The only DEUX thing I will share this week, is that we launched a Glitter Cookie Butter with the cult beauty brand Tower28…and I have never enjoyed eating a snack more… (IT GLISTENSSSS!!!)
A Pumpkin Spice Latte That Doesn’t Taste Horrible.
Don’t get me wrong, I am as basic as any other girl (yes, even you Karen), but it’s hard for me to hop on the PSL train. I have been adamant about this for a while, until I went over to my friend’s apartment for breakfast last week and she encouraged me to try the Pumpkin Spice Coffee and Sweetened Condensed Milk Creamers from Vietnamese Coffee Brand, Copper Cow. When I tell you this completely changed the game for me, it tasted sooooo good and the pumpkin spice flavor was not too overbearing, in fact I quite enjoyed it. I think it’s because they use real pumpkin instead of the weird blends. Also, do not sleep on the Sweetened Condensed Milk Creamer. It’s literally just milk and sugar, but the taste was perfectly rich and smooth. Who knew I would be writing a tangent about Pumpkin Spice Lattes, but here we are. This is the Pumpkin Spice blend I got and here are the creamers. So with that I say, Cheers! Your inner basic girl thanks you. xx
Non Alcoholic Cocktails
I haven’t been loving my relationship with alcohol lately. Not in a scary way, but more like, why am I even doing this? It feels as if sometimes I equate my idea of “fun” with drinking and I have been having a hard time lately separating out the two. So I have been starting to dive into the world of non-alcoholic aperitifs. I have been a long time Ghia girlie, but I have been recently loving Figlia. The New York Times recommended them a while back so I gave it a try and I really love it. I tried this mocktail recipe from their site and was delishhhh
Prada DOOPS
Last summer I saw these Prada rubber slides but couldn’t justify spending $600 because lol, they’re just Crocs… but cute. So recently I found these crocs I’m really into and they give off a similar sleek vibe. I got the white ones, but they have a few other neutral colorways on Amazon. I have been wearing them around the city and feel like I can dress them up and down - I feel weird saying that about Crocs (I never officially joined the Crocs train), but I’m feelin’ myself in them.
Beans 4 Dinner
Yes, BEANS! I’m coming out (again)(This is Patrick writing lol) and saying that some of the more complex and delicious meals I’ve had are bean based. I frequent this Alison Roman Dilly Bean Stew recipe whenever I have guests over and it is 15/10 every time. It’s so rich in flavor and the beans add this creaminess that almost feels like a pasta sauce. It’s bean (haha) my favorite recipe to date so just sharing to spread the good news.
And Finally, a question the DEUX team has been asking all week…
Gonna just leave results from our DEUX HEUX group chat here.
